National American Indian Museum

It's our first day in D.C. and we've planned to visit the newest addition to the Smithsonian. We visited the National American Indian Museum. The building takes up the final lot available on the National Mall and just opened in September 2004. The architecture is beautiful, and the exhibits amazing!

After the museum, we took a break back at our hotel. The room was fairly nice, but lots of street noise came through, and we were on a smoking hall. It overlooks Faurgaut square, and is very convenient for walking or taking the metro. We walked for dinner. We started on a quest for a Lebanese restaurant, but instead found Thai Tanic. Since Thai is somewhat of a standard meal for us, we decided we should give it a try. The restaurant was pretty busy, and had lots of atmoshpere. Very modern appearance, lots of bright colors, and crazy glittery tables. The food was ok. We took leftovers, but ended up letting it go bad. It's hard to eat leftovers when you're eating every meal out. Anyhow...

D.C. is nice. The weather is cooperating, and we're walking around or taking the metro.
