solids? teething? rolling?
Jasper plays on the floor now (not on the sofa) because he's about to roll over. He crunches up and gets sideways, and can even rotate around, but has not flipped yet. He does not enjoy "tummy time" much, so rolling from front to back has not barely been attempted. On his tummy he will reach for toys, and after a few minutes cry to be turned back over. On his back, he will reach for toys, turn his head to see things far away, and roll back and forth from side to back to side again. And as always, from day one, his little legs are on the go! Kick, kick, kick, he kicks so much in his bouncer chair that both heels have scratches from hitting the edge so hard! He must wear socks for protection at this point. Lying flat, sitting up, being carried, sitting in bouncer, wherever... his little legs go kick, kick, kick. And, if there's music, he kicks to the beat!
He's been drooling for a while now, but lately he's begun to chomp down on our fingers. Is there a tooth coming soon? We wonder... He does like to suck and chew and taste his toys more, that's normal. Well, that tooth could still be a ways away. We're ready with the frozen teeting ring though :)
Jasper still sleeps an average 3 hours before waking up, and then wants to eat. Maybe if we begin some solid cereal food soon, he'll fill up and sleep longer. Many mothers are telling me about their babies suddenly waking every 20 minutes, or every hour, and eating - a sure sign they are ready for food! Maybe if we start now, we may avoid those difficult nights. Now we'll research about rice versus oatmeal... what are the pros and cons. Should we start now, or wait for the return from Paris. I planned to wait, but now I'm reconsidering...
