Time flies

We all know time flies... when you're having fun... well, it flies no matter what you're doing!!! Jasper is growing up fast, and we're having fun most of the time, but of course there are those days when Jasper throws a fit, and even those days pass quickly now.

He smiles a lot now, and likes to laugh at daddy's jokes. It turns out that fart jokes are good for any age. Jasper is a chatter box, "aaaaaaah" is the syllable of the week. He also says "oooooh" and many other sounds. He can reach and hold small items, like his rattle, baby softie animal, soft book. He loves the "look look" book, which is all black and white images: children, flowers, cars, fish, cat. I can spend 15 minutes flipping the pages back and forth, he never seems to tire of the repeats! Another fun book, is the Frieght Train... it's quite simple, but the train cars are bright colors.

Jasper has outgrown the swing - he liked it for about 2-3 weeks, more than a month ago now. He still loves the bouncer chair, but soon will outgrow it - I wonder what we'll do next? We've set up a jumperoo, and he sort of likes it, but he's not quite ready for it yet... maybe in a few more weeks.

This week, Jasper is sleeping in his own room. The bassinet is in his room, next to the rocking chair. He gets swaddled up, so that his arms cannot flail around, rocked, then set down into the bassinet. He's sleeping in 2-3 hour chunks. He wakes up and wants to eat, but I don't think he's hungry all the time. Now I just try to rock him back to sleep, sometimes with a pacifier. Once he slept almost 5 hours, so I'm hoping he'll continue to do that more often this week...
