4 weeks

Today marks Jasper's 4 weeks old... he'll be one month on Friday the 20th.

We've been getting along pretty well, I think. From all the horror stories I've heard about sleepless nights, I'm counting us lucky. Sure Jasper only sleeps 2-3 hours at a time, with one hour in between to change a diaper and feed some more... but most nights are something like 3 hours sleep, up one hour, 3 hours sleep, up an hour, then 3 hours sleep well into the morning. We are not up until 10:30 or 11am each day. So somewhere between midnight and noon, we seem to get plenty of rest and enjoy the rest of the day.

Jasper likes to sit in his bouncer chair when he wakes up. He enjoys looking up at the skylights, wondering where all that light is coming from. He looks at our faces, and makes several funny faces himself! Especially when he's pooping! Wow, who would guess a little gas can cause so many grunts and cross-eyed faces! I mean really, the stuff is all runny and yellow - how difficult is it to pass that? Well, ok, let's let the little guy figure that out for himself...

He's got a lot to learn. He's really getting strong and can hold his head up a bit.
