Playing outside
Jasper likes to make insturments he can march around with and sing into. Paper towel tubes work good for this also. This kid is getting very smart. Today he started using his 24th word using sign language (train). When he hears the neighbor's dog bark he signs 'dog', when he hears or sees birds he signs 'birds', when he hears the train whistle or wants me to read him "Freight Train" he signs 'train'. These are just some of the ways he communicates and he really likes to be understood.
He's also been very proud of his ability to stack his baby-legos (using the 'bucket' as the base) into a tower that is taller than himself. He keeps trying to go higher. When he gets that 12th or 13th lego on top he gets excited and claps and cheers, then he squats down to a lower perspective so he can see how tall it is. Then he tries to get one more on top. If the tower falls, he just starts building again.
Favorite food: Organic Corn Flakes with a splash of milk.
He has created his own sign for corn flakes: a spread hand slow clap which developed from the sign for cooking. He likes bananas and other fruits, especially pineapple. To a lesser extent he likes carrots- but only the frozen kind from the peas&carrots combo (doesn't like the peas so much). He'll often like eating something new I cook for him, but then won't be interested the next time. Kind of a picky eater for somebody who eats 4 or 5 times a day. Hopefully a boy can grow strong eating diaperloads of cornflakes! (Jim)
