Into the museums!

Finally went to a couple of museums. First the Musee d'Orsay, then off to the Louvre. Unfortunately, in most of the Louvre, you can't take pictures- just have to remember what the Mona Lisa looks like and all the other overwhelming displays. We only managed part of the Louvre today, but the art in d'Orsay is more to our tastes. Jasper was a very good boy and when he wasn't sleeping, he was enjoying the art. The picture is of me and Jasper in the Van Gogh exhibit of Musee d'Orsay.

Parisians have continued to impress with their friendliness. From the shops and cafes to strangers on the metro, we are greeted with smiles. Whoever carries Jasper is nearly always offered a seat on a busy metro ride and everyone loves looking at Jasper (and he loves looking and smiling at everybody:). My French is getting us by quite well and nobody seems to be offended by my rough pronunciation and grammar.

We are now becoming recognized by the local shopkeepers in our neighborhood. At lunch today in the neighborhood, the proprietors were more than happy to hold Jasper while Gretel and I ate. Even the young man was excited to hold Jasper and he remarked about his kicking that he would probably be a great football (soccer) player. If they only saw how much he can really kick!

We've signed up with a new photo site that is supposed to be very good. Try the link to see more of our photos.
