Binky Fairy
Jasper has been addicted to the pacifier all his life. We call it the "baby pipe". He wakes up at night, demanding we find one when it falls off the bed. When he gets needy, he asks for it in the daytime. Well, enough is enough. I did some research and found out about the binky fairy.
A few days before the big night, simply state that he's a big boy and does not need a pacifier any more. Tell him about the binky fairy who comes to recycle them for new babies. The day before, decorate a bag and tell him tomorrow we'll send his pacifiers away.
Sunday, March 8, was the big date! He was really excited, and wanted to put them out in the afternoon (I thought this would be a bedtime thing). He thinks Baby Grace should get his pipe. At bedtime, he was very proud, and stated "no pipe" and fell asleep, no problem.
Monday morning we looked on the front porch, and in the bag were some new art supplies! We came in, ate breakfast, and worked on projects. He told me the long story about the fairy who come to take the pipe for baby Grace :)
That's it!
