Introducing . . .

Labor began around 5:30am... we stayed in bed (Jim sound asleep, Gretel wondering... hum... is this the day?) and woke up around 9:30am. Yes, Gretel thinks she's in early labor by now... Jim's getting excited and starts to pack the car. We checkin to the hospital around 2pm... already 5cm dialation with contractions really kicking in now!!! Wow!!! What a ride!!! Jasper was born very quickly - I had to push him out with just a few pushes, with the help from the doctor's vacuum (midwife, nurses, and pediatritian all ready to help). His heartbeat was slow, his umbilical cord wrapped twice around his neck... after the first push caused it to tighten and choke - so it was a quick rush to get him delivered. Everything worked out fine, he's a healthy little fella. Just needed a bit of help into the world, quick push, some oxygen and IV, and ten minutes later he's back resting on mommy's breast. Awwwww..... so sweet...
